Lake Bluff Man Faces Prison Term After Assault Conviction, Two Unrelated Cases Still Open

(Waukegan, IL)  A Lake Bluff man has been convicted in a sexual assault case, while two other cases remain pending. Shawheen Sariri was charged in early 2019 with assaulting a minor family member in 2018. He was recently convicted of one count of predatory criminal sexual assault of a child and two counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse. While out on bond in the 2018 case…court records show that Sariri picked up battery and domestic battery charges in January of 2020, and three counts of sexual assault in September of 2021. Prosecutors say the cases are unrelated to each other, and to the case involving the minor. The 26-year-old faces a sentencing date later this year for the conviction…he’s due in court in early March for his other two cases.
