Lake Zurich Priest Reinstated After Abuse Allegations Prove “Unfounded”

(Lake Zurich, IL) A Lake Zurich Priest has been reinstated to his position, after another round of sexual abuse allegations produced no credible evidence. Father David Ryan stepped aside from the Saint Francis de Sales Catholic Parish in August of last year, after a pair of accusations came out. Ryan was in a similar position in November of 2020, before being reinstated almost a year later…after an investigation showed those allegations were unfounded. Cardinal Blase Cupich of the Chicago Archdiocese said there was no sufficient evidence this time around either…he also said those that made the allegations refused to cooperate with both police and church investigators.
