Weekend Crash in Wadsworth Leaves One Person Critically Injured

(Wadsworth, IL) A weekend crash in Wadsworth left several people injured. Lake County Sheriff’s officials say they were called on Saturday afternoon to the intersection of Route 41 and 173. A preliminary investigation shows that a Nissan, driven by a 45-year-old Zion man, was driving recklessly and ran a red light. Those actions led the vehicle to t-bone a Ford, driven by a 42-year-old Zion man. The driver of the Ford was hospitalized with critical life threatening injuries. Three others in the Ford, including two children were treated and released at the scene. The driver of the Nissan and a passenger were hospitalized with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The crash remains under investigation.
