Car Crashed After Vehicle Pursuit Called Off in Gurnee, Two Injured

(Gurnee, IL)  Police in Gurnee say two people were sent to area hospitals after a crash. The incident started on Sunday night when a vehicle was clocked at a high rate of speed along Old Grand Avenue. Police attempted a traffic stop but the vehicle took off, and law enforcement immediately terminated any kind of pursuit. The vehicle was later located after it crashed into a building near Route 41 and Depot Road. A 27-year-old Winthrop Harbor woman was sent to Vista East in Waukegan, while a 26-year-old North Chicago man was sent to Advocate Condell in Libertyville…neither suffered life threatening injuries. No charges have been announced, but the matter remains under investigation.
