A recent survey of 1,000 parents identified fifty skills they are afraid their children will not have when they’re adults.  Here are the top ten:

1.  How to deal with stress.  29% said they’re worried their kids won’t have the emotional skills to deal with tough situations.

2.  How to budget.

3.  How to deal with a broken heart.  20% of parents said they’re concerned.

4.  How to save money.

5.  How to pay bills.

6.  How to drive a car.

7.  Dealing with a mortgage.

8.  How to look after yourself on a night out.

9.  How to change a tire.

10.  How to be independent.  Or in other words . . . will they EVER move out?

The survey also found the #1 way kids learn life skills is through their parents.  So don’t rely on their teachers for all this stuff.  And nearly three-quarters of  parents surveyed said financial skills are the most important things kids need to learn.
